Who are you?
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Generalist to support our growing team in Panama. This role will work in coordination with the United States and United Kingdom Strategic Services Group and will support the  day-to-day Human Resources operations, ensure compliance with Panamanian labor laws, administer payroll and benefits, support recruiting and onboarding, and serve as the primary Panamanian HR resource for employees and leadership. As our organization transitions from a Professional Employer Organization (PEO) to an in-house HR model, this position will play a key role in building scalable HR processes in coordination with the Strategic Services group while playing a key role in delivering an outstanding employee experience.

What you get to do:
Human Resources Operation
  • Serve as the primary HR contact for all Panama-based employees.
  • Oversee the complete employee lifecycle, in cooperation with Talent Operations and People Operations, including onboarding, employment changes, and offboarding.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Develop, document, and continuously improve HR policies and procedures collaboratively with the Strategic Services Group.
  • Coordinate leave management, attendance tracking and employee documentation.
Payroll and Benefits
  • Coordinate and administer monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Manage employee benefits enrollment, changes, and annual renewals.
  • Reconcile payroll and benefits data and resolve discrepancies.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure accurate HR reporting.
Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Panamanian labor laws and employment regulations.
  • Prepare employment agreements, amendments, and termination documentation.
  • Maintain required government filings and employment records.
  • Coordinate with legal counsel on employment-related matters when needed.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
  • Coordinate recruiting activities, including interview scheduling, offer letters, and hiring documentation in collaboration with Talent Operations.
  • Lead the onboarding process in collaboration with People Operations to ensure a smooth employee experience.
HR Systems and Reporting
  • Maintain HR systems and employee databases.
  • Support HR audits and compliance reviews.
Strategic Projects
  • Lead the transition from the current PEO model to internal HR operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, efficiency, and employee experience in collaboration with Strategic Services.
  • Partner with the Panama Site Director on organizational initiatives and workforce planning.
What you bring to the role:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Panamanian labor laws and employment practices.
  • Experience coordinating payroll and employee benefits.
  • Professional proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working for a multinational or U.S.-based organization.
  • Experience supporting a growing technology or professional services company.
  • Experience implementing or transitioning HR systems and processes.
  • Familiarity with HRIS and payroll platforms.
  • Experience working with or transitioning away from a PEO.
